October Is Upon Us

We have had so much fun seeing all the apples the children have made. They each stood up and told us all about them. The pets,vacations and family pictures were some of the best. The apples are being displayed all over the room for us to enjoy. We are doing our 5 senses this week and next we will go to the community and see what is there.
Fall is in the air so you may need jackets and a change of clothes in the back pack that fits the weather change. Halloween is going to be a TRUNK AND TREAT celebration in the back lot at the school . We will do this Friday October 24, 2008 in the evening.
You will see a note come home soon telling more about this fun event.
I hope all of you are seeing some great work come home. I know the children have all been working hard. Parent teacher conferences will be happening after Nov. 1st. We will have sign up sheets when it gets closer to that time. Thank you parents for all you do.

Fall is upon us!

Hi to all parents of room 5, We are well on our way to having a great school year. This blog is going to be your link to the classroom.You will be given helpful information as well as reminders of things to come.

We have been discovering ourselves the past few weeks. We started with the food pyramid and healthy eating and exercising. Then we had fun with apples: painting with them , tasting the many different kinds and making applesauce. Last week we learned the parts of our body. I hope many of you are noticing your children trying to speak Spanish , as we are teaching some with each lesson. We are also teaching some sign language as we go along. The kids are having fun with these. This week we will be talking about our bones and some internal parts. These are the things that hold us all together. All children are invited to do work for the science we do as a group each week. Each child is at a different level of age and interest, so the work level and the art level will be different for each child. We like to see their own work , for it is much more interesting to see how they see things. Please feel free to browse the class for projects any time , for they will be displayed proudly.
